Days Go On
03:35
|
|||
Went down to the mar-ket on a Sun-day
and I bought my-self a brand new dress.
Wore it all a-round the town on Mon-day,
but God damn you, boy, I still looked a mess.
Tues-day I saw Mom, saw Pop on Wednes-day.
She's O-K, and-he's got his new wife.
Mom says you were nev-er true and Pop just says "To hell with you” and
I say it's a mi-ci-cle they ag-ree for once in my life.
And the days go on, on, and the days go on,
and the days go on on, and the day go on on.
Thurs-day I de-cid-ed I'd go danc-ing,
and may-be find a man to take me home.
Met some guy who sor-ta does the mam-bo.
he showed me the same dip he's ob-vious-ly al-ways shown. (so I went home)
Sat a-lone on the phone on Fri-day, call-ing friends I'd lost be-cause of you.
Fun-ny how it seems they've all turned in to an-swer-ing ma-chines,
I guess what's done is done, now, what do I do?
And it's not like I can't live with-out you,
it's not like I'm fall-ing a-part,
it's just that not see-ing you day af-ter day
is not tak-ing well to my heart.
Sa-tur-day I took the long way home,
past the place we used to go.
noth-ing much to see ex-cept the ghosts of you and me
danc-ing to the si-lence of the snow.
and the days go on, and the days go on,
and the days go on and the day go on.
and the days go on and the day go on

So We Could Win
04:15
|
|||
You are young, you are proud,
arms are strong, laugh is loud,
love your coun-try like your kin,
left your home so we could win.
Hold them close, say good-bye,
turn and go don't watch them cry,
learn to fight. live war's way,
trust in God and what your lead-ers say
You are so far a-way,
sent you home, but not to stay,
no more laughs, no more youth,
on-ly rage and blood and night-mares of the truth
Each and ev-vry day you live
you will give and give and give
Till they fin-ally bring you back
or Till you die in some attack,
or Till you drown in a stub-born man's sin
of tell-ing you that we could win.

Give Me You
03:42
|
|||
I don't want your part-ties where the rich folks wine and dine.
I don't want that slicked back smile that you would al-most swear was ge-nu-ine.
I don't want your win-nings from your Mon-ti-car-lo black jack bets
I don’t want your reasons, your apologies or your regrets.
I want you. So all you gotta do is give me you.
I don't want your pent-house or your sum-mer home out on the bay.
I don't want a trip to Cai-ro, Kath-man-du, Mi-la-no or Mar-seille.
I don't want a dia-mond neck-lace, or ear-ings made of pre-cous stone,
and please don't pay for sil-ky neg-li-gée 'cause, ba-by, I have got my own.
I want you so all your got-ta do is give me you.
Do you ev-er let it go?
Do you ev-er let it show?
Do I see what no one sees:
how you try so hard to please?
Oh, dar-ling, if you on-ly knew
that all I need's the chance to love the real you.
I don't need your hip con-nec-tions to make me a so-cial-ite star.
I'm not here to use you, babe, like the rest of those high class two faced wo-men are. Now, it's clear I al-arm you as you hide be-neith the brim of your hat,
but I won't take no for an an-swer, and you can be damn sure of that.
I want you so all you got-ta do is give me you.
Do you al-ways hold your breath?
Are you that scared to death?
Try-ing hard to play your part?
You have got it down to an art.
Go a-head, buy them what they're drea-ming of,
but mo-ney will not buy you love.
Oh, ba-by, take a chance on me,
'cause I will give you all my love one hun-dred per-cent free.
Let's ditch this par-ty and this mo-ney grub-bing mob,
let's get a-way in my Che-vro-let like we have got a thou sand banks to rob
Let's find our-selves a some-place that none of them will ev-er find,
'cause when I look at you I know you want me too
so I'm gon-na make you mine all mine all mine.
I want you, so all you got-ta do is give me you.

Where I Belong
03:43
|
|
||
I’m not here for money
I’m not here for fame
I’m not here just to scream and shout and hope that somebody remembers my name
No no no
I’m here cause this is where I belong
I’m not here cause it’s easy
I’m not here cause it’s hard
I knew if this is what I wanted to do
I’d always have to stay on guard
No no no
I’m here cause this is where I belong
Sure I’ve heard what the people say
It leaves you cold and bare
Sure I’ve heard there’s just no way
Damn it I don’t care
Maybe things weren’t so great today
but the warm deep night will always mend the tear
I don’t know where I’m going
I don’t know what’s to come
But when I get the chance to get up and dance
to the beat of my different drum
I know
I’m here cause this is where I belong
I’m here cause this is where I belong

Blue Again
03:27
|
|||
Why'd they have to go and sing a love song?
Why'd they have to go and do a thing like that?
'Cause ev-ry time I hear a love song, my dear,
I think of you, and I am blue a-gain.
Why'd they have to go and sing of new love
Why'd they have to go and do a thing like that?
'Cause ev-ry time I hear a song of new love, my dear,
I see your face make my heart race when we met.
Why'd they have to go and sing of true love?
Why'd they have to go and do a thing like that?
'Cause ev-ry time I hear a song of true love, my dear,
I feel your touch and it's too much to bear.
Why'd they have to go and sing of through love?
Why'd they have to go and do a thing like that?
'Cause ev-ry time I hear a song of through love, my dear,
I hear your voice mak-ing the choice to go.
(sing-a-long)
Why'd they have to go and sing a love song?
Why'd they have to go and do a thing like that?
'Cause ev-ry time I hear a love song, my dear,
I think of you, and I am blue a-gain.
